There’s an
interesting, new way in which to share reading time with children and
you only need a CD player to make it work. StoryTime Karaoke is a story
book of classic children’s tales and CD with prerecorded music and
sound effects backgrounds for the story.
“My four-year
old made me play Humpty Dumpty six times before we moved on to the next
one,” Michelle Lindrose, mother of two, said.

plans to put more fun into reading time. “Nursery Rhymes, Fables,
Fairy Tales, holiday and other stories come alive as sound effects are
coordinated with the story you are reading,” Frank Vaccariello, one
of the inventive partners that shaped the concept, said.
The other half
of that creative duo, Stuart Mahaffey, said the book and CD are perfect
for parents who would like to make a child’s story time more interesting.
“It’s also great for those who are on the go and don’t
get a chance to be with a child as often as they’d like, family members
who don’t live in the same home and countless other reasons,”
Mahaffey said.
All you need is
a CD player. Read along with the CD playing in the background, using the
sound effects cues written in the book to time the story correctly. The
StoryTime Karaoke for Beginners Series of books includes a prerecorded
voice version on the CD. It helps to have listened to this version first
to learn the timing of the story with the sound effects
You can read to
a child sitting on your lap or use your own audio or video equipment to
record your story to play back anytime, even when you’re not there.
The CDs will
also play in many Karaoke Machines. You can read the words right from
the machine’s screen just as if you were singing a song.
